John McGinn is set to sign a new contract with Aston Villa after a deal in principle was agreed with the club. Roberto Olabe has negotiated terms and progress on new contracts has accelerated, with Matty Cash's deal completed. McGinn joined Villa in 2018 from Hibernian and has registered 33 goals and 41 assists across 297 appearances while representing Scotland. The club plans to finalise key contracts before January to concentrate on the transfer window. Negotiations for Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans continue but are less advanced.
