Joao Pedro wants to build on Palmer partnership
""Cole is a very different player because he thinks very fast," Pedro told ESPN Brasil. "He manages to make decisions that we often don't expect. But I believe that since the [Club] World Cup, he has been very close to me, always talking with me and me with him. We try to combine our ideas so that it works in the games. I think it's working, thank God, and may it continue like this.""
""I saw myself very prepared for a moment like this," he said. "I dreamed of being in the moment I am living today, which is playing for the Brazilian national team, playing for Chelsea, and being able to showcase great football. I think it's the moment I've always dreamed of since I came to Chelsea, to be living this. I won my first title very quickly ... I think it's an incredible moment ...""
João Pedro has formed a productive partnership with Cole Palmer that is developing into a key attacking combination for Chelsea. Both players scored three goals apiece at the FIFA Club World Cup to help Chelsea win the trophy. Pedro joined Chelsea from Brighton this summer, has two league goals and three assists, and provided an assist to Palmer in the 2-2 draw at Brentford. Palmer's quick thinking complements Pedro, and close communication since the Club World Cup has helped them combine ideas on the pitch. Pedro progressed from Fluminense's youth system, spent four seasons at Watford, and was Brighton's joint-top Premier League scorer last season. Pedro describes the current period as a career highlight, having won his first title quickly, and intends to stay grounded while working to remain at Chelsea and in the national team.
