Jeff Shi: Diogo Jota was 'one of the top three players' he saw at Wolves
Briefly

Diogo Jota was killed in a car crash in Spain, along with his brother Andre Silva. Teammates and notable figures, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, paid tribute online, while a memorial shrine was established outside Anfield. Jota's legacy at Wolves has been acknowledged by chairman Jeff Shi, who emphasized his talent, warmth, and leadership qualities. Jota was integral to Wolves’ success from 2017 to 2020, scoring critical goals in their Europa League journey. His influence extended beyond the pitch, as Shi believed he would have excelled in business due to his intelligence and decisiveness.
Diogo was a top player and, for me, one of the top three players in the whole 10 years that Fosun and I have been here. He was also a nice boy who was very warm, very nice and always understanding.
He was a very positive and optimistic guy and he could even give the chairman confidence, but he was a guy with very clear ideas. He was smart, intelligent and also very decisive in his actions.
Diogo will be sorely missed by everyone here at Wolves and our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Jota will forever be synonymous with the most successful era in Wolves' modern history, having arrived on an initial loan basis in 2017 when they were a Championship club.
