""It all depends on the level of severity," sports physiotherapist Nick Worth told BBC Sport. "If it's a straightforward fibular fracture from a kick to the outside of his leg, he could be back playing within six weeks.""
""three to four months if treated conservatively""
Alexander Isak limped off immediately after scoring and reports suggested a possible leg fracture with variable recovery time. The most common football leg fractures affect the lower leg bones, the tibia and fibula. Fibular fractures heal relatively quickly, often within six to eight weeks, because the fibula is smaller and not weight-bearing. Tibial fractures are more substantial and can take three to four months to heal. Femur fractures are rarer in football and can also require months to recover. Severity determines whether surgery or fixation with pins and plates is required, lengthening recovery.
