Ipswich defender Clarke joins Charlton on loan
"The main thing for me was the manager [Nathan Jones]. I spoke to him and I got that feeling of being really wanted at a place straight away,"
"Not many teams have come to Portman Road this season and won convincingly which Charlton did, so they're the appealing factors."
Charlton Athletic have signed 24-year-old defender Harry Clarke on loan until the end of the season. Clarke has made 67 appearances for Ipswich Town since returning from Arsenal in January 2023. He made 35 Championship appearances as Ipswich won promotion under Kieran McKenna in 2023–24 and played seven Premier League games before a loan spell at Sheffield United. Clarke cited manager Nathan Jones and Charlton’s convincing 3-0 win at Portman Road as appealing factors in his move. Charlton sit 19th in the Championship with 29 points and are winless in four; Ipswich have risen to third with five wins in seven.
