IOC to probe FIFA president Infantino after Trump meeting
""to always act independently of ... political interests.""
""The Olympic Charter is very clear on what it expects of its members and we will go and research into the alleged signing of documents, I guess,""
""Now that you guys have made us aware of it," she said after a second question on the subject, "we will go back and we'll have a look into it.""
IOC president Kirsty Coventry said the Olympic body will "look into" Gianni Infantino's conduct after he participated in President Trump's Board of Peace launch. Infantino signed a partnership on behalf of FIFA at the Washington event that could see $75 million of soccer funds invested in Gaza, and FIFA pledged $50 million for a Gaza stadium. Infantino has closely aligned FIFA with the U.S., attending Trump's inauguration and visiting the White House and Mar-a-Lago ahead of the 2026 World Cup. IOC members are bound to political neutrality under the Olympic Charter and include senior figures from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
