Gianni Infantino said no British nationals were arrested during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and called that outcome "really special." The Football Supporters' Association responded that Infantino should focus on delivering cheaper tickets for the 2026 World Cup rather than making jokes about fans. Group stage tickets for 2026 are up to three times more expensive than in 2022, and the cheapest final ticket in New Jersey is $3,119. FIFA introduced a limited number of $60 tickets for all 104 matches. Infantino acknowledged "tickets are not cheap," said FIFA had been "hammered," and defended prices by citing high demand, led by the US, Germany and England.
