'I'll get goosebumps' - Barnsley duo out to upset old club Liverpool
"I ran upstairs screaming at my missus. I couldn't believe it, I'm still a massive Liverpool fan. I was at the 4-0 [Champions League] win against Barcelona in 2019. If Liverpool are on, I'm zoned in and whenever I can, I'll go to Anfield to watch them too. There's me, Vimal and a few other Liverpool fans in the side. I've got more than 30 tickets for my family and friends. They'll all be in the away end getting behind the boys."
"A lot of their players in their career may not even play at one of them so it's mad that I get to do all three in the space of just over a year,"
Adam Phillips and Vimal Yoganathan are Barnsley midfielders who came through Liverpool's academy, spending eight and seven years respectively, before being released. Both remain Liverpool supporters and will play at Anfield when Barnsley face Liverpool. Phillips bought more than 30 tickets for family and friends and expects goosebumps hearing You'll Never Walk Alone. Yoganathan, turning 20 on Tuesday, has already played at Old Trafford and Wembley, helped Oldham win promotion on loan, and became the first Tamil footballer to score in the EFL with a goal against Doncaster Rovers. Yoganathan's family are from Sri Lanka and he grew up in Trelawnyd, North Wales.
