Ibrahima Konaté is approaching the end of his Liverpool contract and could become a free agent this summer. Negotiations have not produced a breakthrough and his future remains unsettled. Liverpool are expected to prioritise centre-back recruitment in the summer while right-back recruitment is not planned this window. Virgil van Dijk has urged Konaté to sign a new deal, describing him as an important on-pitch figure, a leader off the pitch, outstanding and a world-class centre-back. Contract expirations for Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are in 2027. Mohamed Salah is expected to stay but remains a situation to monitor at season end.
