"Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign continues exclusively live on the BBC on Friday, as they travel to western Hungary to face Belarus. The match is being played behind closed doors in the Hungarian town of Zalaegerszeg after Belarus were banned from staging games in their own country by Uefa as a result of their support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. After the Uefa sanction was imposed, it was then up to the Belarusian FA to find a suitable stadium to host their matches."
"The BBC contract announced in March is part of a wider deal that also includes matches involving Northern Ireland and Wales. It included 14 live Scotland matches, the first of which was the first leg of the Nations League play-off in Greece in March. Coverage of Scotland's qualifiers for the World Cup in United States, Canada and Mexico continues on Monday, when Jonathan Sutherland will be joined by former Scotland internationals Scott Brown and Neil McCann."
"Two more former Scotland attackers, James McFadden and Steven Thompson, will be joining commentator Liam McLeod in Zalaegerszeg. The match will be shown live on BBC One Scotland, BBC Three, iPlayer and online, with coverage beginning at 19:30 BST. Once the television coverage finishes at 22:00, the discussion, analysis and reaction will continue on the iPlayer and online. There will be full live Sportsound commentary on BBC Radio Scotland Extra and BBC Sounds."
Scotland travel to Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, to play Belarus in a World Cup qualifying match behind closed doors on Monday 8 September at ZTE Arena. UEFA banned Belarus from hosting matches at home because of the Belarusian authorities' support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the Belarusian FA selected Zalaegerszeg about 227km from Budapest; Belarus have drawn all three matches played there so far. The BBC holds exclusive live rights and will broadcast the match across TV, iPlayer and online with named presenters, pundits and full radio commentary on BBC Radio Scotland Extra and BBC Sounds.
