Dennis Geiger has joined Aberdeen on loan with an option for a permanent transfer in the summer. The 27-year-old midfielder has not played this season after publicly criticizing Hoffenheim's recruitment and being sidelined by the club. Geiger made nearly 150 first-team appearances for Hoffenheim, is a former Germany Under-21 international, and was once considered a future German international. Geiger frames the move as a restart and a new challenge and intends to push himself out of his comfort zone. Geiger describes himself as aggressive, technically able, mentally strong and determined to win. Aberdeen's sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel expects Geiger to bring energy, tenacity and pedigree to improve the squad.
