Arsenal have arranged a season-long loan for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie with an obligation to make the transfer permanent for £45m and a five-year contract following the season. The deal also appears as a €52m package in another breakdown and includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Hincapie can play centre-back and left-back and made 166 appearances for Leverkusen since joining from Talleres in 2021. He helped Leverkusen win the 2023-24 Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double and reach the Europa League final. His arrival is expected to enable Jakub Kiwior’s move to Porto and Hincapie could debut after the international break on September 13.
