"Marc knows the club, he knows Scottish football, what it means and what's at stake, and that is a really big positive for me. "He's clearly a very good player and he was keen to come here and be part of something that could be very special.""
""Every minute I've worked with him, he's brilliant and that's why Hearts made an offer, but it didn't meet the club's valuation," Savage told club media. "I think now Hearts have moved on. I'm sure the lure of Hearts - top of the Scottish Premiership - must have been a real attractive pull for a player who's 29. "I'm not naive enough to think a player in his situation won't be tempted by that. I can't speak for Mendy, ""
Heart of Midlothian have signed 24-year-old Marc Leonard on loan from Birmingham City until the end of the season. Leonard has made 17 appearances this season for Birmingham, mostly as a substitute, and could debut for Hearts against Celtic. Leonard progressed through Hearts' youth system before joining Brighton in 2019 and had loan spells at Northampton Town prior to signing for Birmingham 18 months ago. Hearts face midfield absences with Beni Baningime suspended and Cammy Devlin injured, and Leonard's arrival bolsters options. Birmingham currently sit 13th in the Championship.
