"Bodo/Glimt have used a former Norwegian Royal Air Force officer to transform the club's fortunes In 2017, Bjorn Mannsverk's phone rang. A year before, what was meant to be a special 100th anniversary for Bodo/Glimt ended in heartbreak as the Norwegian club were relegated from the top flight. In 2017 Bjorn Mannsverk received a phone call to become involved with Bodo/Glimt. In 2016 the club's intended 100th anniversary ended with the club's relegation from the top flight. Club leadership sought a fresh approach to recover from that setback. Mannsverk had previously been stationed in Bodo while serving as a fighter pilot with the Royal Norwegian Air Force and was therefore familiar with the town. Mannsverk did not, however, have prior familiarity with the football club. His recruitment was intended to apply his background to transform the club's fortunes and get the club back on track.
