Guadalajara and Monterrey will host the intercontinental playoff tournament for the 2026 World Cup beginning March 23. The tournament will feature six teams from five confederations competing for two qualification spots. The six nations are Iraq, Congo, Jamaica, Suriname, Bolivia and New Caledonia. The draw will be held in Zurich and the match schedule will follow. The Guadalajara stadium will host four group-stage matches during the World Cup. The Monterrey stadium will host three group-stage matches and a round-of-32 match. The Azteca stadium in Mexico City will be the other Mexican World Cup venue. FIFA called the Guadalajara and Monterrey venues perfect stages for a thrilling, passionate and dramatic event.
