Canvot was penalised for handball following a pitch-side VAR review, allowing Enzo Fernandez to convert the penalty. Adam Wharton received a second yellow card and was sent off, while Chris Richards' late header produced a belated Palace response. Palace have gone 11 matches without a win in all competitions since December 11 (D4 L7), marking the Premier League's longest current winless streak and the club's worst sequence since early 2023.
