"Carroll was reportedly detained by police shortly after landing in the UK from France at Stansted Airport. He was questioned by officers and held for a short period, a source told the Sun at the time of his arrest. "It seemed as if an issue was flagged up to the Border Force officers at passport control at Stansted, which led to police being called. He was questioned then taken away," they said."

Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27 and the alleged offences relate to an incident in March. "He is due to appear at Chelmsford magistrates' court on December 30." Carroll, who earned nine England caps during his career, is currently playing for non-league side Dagenham and Redbridge."

Essex Police charged him with breaching a non-molestation order over an alleged incident in March, and he is due to appear at Chelmsford magistrates' court on December 30. Carroll was questioned and held briefly at passport control after Border Force flagged an issue. Carroll earned nine England caps and currently plays for non-league Dagenham and Redbridge after returning from spells with French clubs Amiens and Bordeaux. He began a relationship with make-up artist Lou Teasdale following his split from his estranged wife Billi Mucklow, with divorce proceedings started in September.
