Forest 'didn't get rewards' in Europa League draw
"I think first I should be proud of the players' efforts. It's a difficult place to come, difficult conditions, people don't realise the humidity out there, how energy sapping it is, even the pitch and I thought our football was outstanding at times in the first half. The thing I could fault is we didn't put the game to bed."
"In the second half we had to sit off a little bit and had to defend. I never really felt threatened by it and I don't think our goalkeeper had many saves to make. I'm just disappointed that the players and supporters don't get the rewards for our efforts. I've just got to make sure they keep their heads up because there's plenty to be positive about and the wins will come."
Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Real Betis after conceding a late equaliser. Igor Jesus scored twice to give Forest the lead and put them on track for a rare away win. The team produced outstanding football in the first half but slumped in the second half and were forced to defend more. Difficult humidity and a testing pitch sapped energy. Despite limited goalkeeper work and not feeling genuinely threatened, the side failed to close out the match and both players and supporters were left disappointed, with optimism that wins will come.
