Germany defeated France 1-0 in the UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-final first leg in Dusseldorf. Klara Buhl scored the only goal late after cutting in from the left and firing low past goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin. Germany created numerous chances but lacked finishing efficiency. The win gives Germany a narrow advantage ahead of the second leg in Caen in Normandy. Ann-Katrin Berger missed the match through a knee injury and was replaced by Stina Johannes. Both Germany and France topped their respective groups in League A during the campaign. The other semi-final pairs Spain with Sweden.
