Fifty-nine people were injured after rival fans clashed at the Colombia Cup final in Medellin at Estadio Atanasio Girardot following Atletico Nacional's 1-0 win over Deportivo Independiente Medellin. Fans invaded the pitch after the final whistle, using flares and fireworks, and riot police were deployed to restore order. Seven police officers were injured. The stadium suffered serious damage, with seats and turnstiles ripped out and sections of the pitch burned. The match start was delayed 14 minutes due to pyrotechnics. Police seized weapons and large quantities of pyrotechnic material, and officials vowed accountability.
