FIFA: Nearly 1.5 million CWC tickets sold so far
Briefly

The FIFA Club World Cup kicked off in the U.S. with 1.5 million ticket sales from over 130 countries. The matches have drawn large crowds, such as over 60,000 for the opener in Miami and 80,000 at the Rose Bowl. However, other games had low attendance, leading to concerns about the overall interest in soccer in the U.S. FIFA aims to generate excitement for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, despite challenges related to player workload and previous low attendance during events like Copa America 2024.
This is exactly what the FIFA Club World Cup was created for: a world-class stage where new stories are told, new heroes emerge, and club football fans feel part of something bigger.
FIFA hopes to build enthusiasm for the quadrennial spectacle among often soccer-ambivalent fans in the U.S., which will co-host the tournament next year with Canada and Mexico.
Concerns for how the Club World Cup would be received had been rampant, however, after a lacklustre Copa America in 2024 that played out on sub-par pitches to occasionally half-empty stadiums.
Players' workload has raised concerns, as this summer's tournament could add at least three and up to seven games for teams that have just finished their European seasons.
