Ex-Chelsea star Oscar released from hospital
"Extensive investigation carried out at the hospital confirmed that the player presented an episode of vasovagal syncope,"
"Stable and clinically well throughout the hospitalization period, the player will now follow a medical rest program for the next few days."
"intact"
"of all the bad things that could have happened, this was the least bad"
Oscar, 34, was admitted to the cardiology unit at São Paulo's Einstein Hospital after feeling unwell and briefly losing consciousness during a pre-season fitness test on Nov. 11. He underwent extensive tests throughout the week and was discharged on Sunday. Hospital investigations confirmed an episode of vasovagal syncope. He remained stable and clinically well during hospitalization and will follow a medical rest program for several days. Vasovagal syncope involves sudden drops in heart rate and blood pressure, reducing blood flow to the brain and causing brief loss of consciousness. Initial tests suggest his heart is intact. Oscar returned to São Paulo in December 2024 and his contract runs until the end of 2027.
