Dortmund must quickly move on from Man City loss, says Kovac - Soccer News
"[We must] quickly put [it] behind us. [It] can also help us. We want to develop further and must measure ourselves against the best. We are good, but we need to keep improving. Personally, I know the atmosphere in the Volkspark well. Tomorrow we want to secure a win before the international break, to have not only three points but also a good feeling for the days after."
"Disappointing tonight. We regroup, reset, and go again at the weekend. As always, your support was unbelievable. Safe travels home and see you in Hamburg. pic.twitter.com/ZyhMi22YH5 - Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) November 5, 2025"
Niko Kovac urged Borussia Dortmund to quickly put a 4-1 defeat at Manchester City behind them and to use the experience to develop by measuring themselves against the best. Dortmund can move up to second in the Bundesliga ahead of the international break, and Kovac wants a win in Hamburg to boost confidence. Kovac holds the best unbeaten managerial record against Hamburg among current Bundesliga teams, with one win and three draws, and scored 12 Bundesliga goals in 55 appearances for the Red Shorts. Hamburg have lost three straight league games since a 4-0 win over Mainz and sit 13th, two points clear of 16th. Rayan Philippe has three goals in nine league matches but has not scored since the Mainz victory.
