Dorking sign fan, 54, to play in National League South
""Playing in goal is like riding a bike you never forget it," said Dunn. "I still regularly play walking football. As a Wanderers fan, no-one will be trying harder than me to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.""
""What Terry lacks in mobility, he'll make up for in heart and for one game, we're just going to have to get on with it.""
"Dorking described Dunn as a "staunch supporter" and "multiple promotion winner" at local level."
Dorking Wanderers intend to start 54-year-old fan Terry Dunn in goal for the National League South match against AFC Totton after first-team goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes was ruled out for up to four weeks with a spleen injury. Dunn retired from playing in 1997 after spells with local clubs, has signed a short-term contract, and still plays walking football. The club expects to bring in a loan goalkeeper on Monday but could not secure a replacement for the weekend fixture. Dorking described Dunn as a staunch supporter and multiple-promotion winner, and manager Marc White cited heart over mobility for one game.
