"There are always talks, Szoboszlai said. You guys in the media make a lot for the people [public] and keep on going because that's your job. There have been talks but, for sure, not any decision has been made. There is always progress but no decision has been made and I'll just keep on going every week, every training, giving my best for the team, for the fans. Let's see what is going to happen in the future."
"Asked whether he was happy at Liverpool, Szoboszlai added: Of course I am happy here but you know how football works and that is something everybody has to take into account. Arne Slot's team visit Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday, when there could be a swift return for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has spent the past five weeks at the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt."
Dominik Szoboszlai is in ongoing contract discussions with Liverpool, with progress reported but no final decision reached. He signed for Liverpool from RB Leipzig in July 2023 for around £60m and is under contract until summer 2028. Liverpool view him as a standout performer and potential future captain and want to reward his development. Szoboszlai says he is happy at the club but accepts uncertainty in football. Liverpool are also seeking to extend Ryan Gravenberch and have recently faced contract exits and expiries, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate. Mohamed Salah could return soon and will resume penalty duties.
