Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in UD Almeria, a Spanish second division club owned by Saudi group SMC. The investment reflects his long-term commitment to professional football ownership through his CR7 Sports Investments holding company. Almeria currently sits third in the Segunda division, one point from automatic promotion to the top flight after being relegated from La Liga in 2024. Club president Mohamed Al Khereiji indicated Ronaldo will be particularly involved in developing the club's youth programme. Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and holds a stake in that club, became the first footballer on Bloomberg's Billionaire Index in October.
