Ryan Christie has taken on translator duties at Bournemouth for summer signing Ben Gannon-Doak. Gannon-Doak joined from Liverpool in a deal worth £25m and made his Cherries debut in the League Cup defeat to Brentford. Teammates have noticed a contrast between Christie's mock Scottish accent and Gannon-Doak's speech, prompting Christie to help interpret in the dressing room. Gannon-Doak impressed for Scotland during Nations League matches against Croatia, Poland and Portugal. Despite only six caps, he was considered a significant loss when he missed out on the Scots' two-legged play-off.
