Chivu takes blame for Sommer mistake in Inters big win over Pisa - Soccer News
"A match lasts 100 minutes, and it can be turned around,"
"That was my fault [Sommer's mistake] because I'm the one who makes certain requests to the goalkeeper. Sometimes I put Yann in difficulty."
"The attitude is what matters; you might suffer at times, but what counts is how you react. I'd say we did very well."
"We could have collapsed, but instead, the team kept doing their things. The only regret is that we didn't make it 4-2 earlier, only at the end. But hats off to the boys, they give everything they have to make this a competitive season and to show that we're working to reach our objectives."
Pisa led 2-0 inside 23 minutes after Yann Sommer passed straight to Stefano Moreo, who scored, and then conceded a near-post header. Inter responded with three goals in an eight-minute spell before half-time and added three more in the final 12 minutes to win 6-2 at the San Siro. This marked Inter's first home match with at least six goals since November 2022 and their first league victory after trailing by two goals since March 2025. Cristian Chivu accepted responsibility for the goalkeeper error and praised the team’s attitude. Francesco Esposito scored the third with a header and has been involved in goals in his last three league appearances.
