Chelsea have interest in signing Argentine Valentin Barco from RC Strasbourg after the newly appointed manager requested the player be signed. The manager previously worked with Barco at Strasbourg and told the Chelsea hierarchy: I want Valentin Barco back. Enzo Maresca also showed interest in the player. Barco is 21, versatile as a left back, central midfielder, or wide player, and has one goal and four assists in Ligue 1 this season. Strasbourg and Chelsea share the same owner, BlueCo, which could ease transfer negotiations. Familiarity with Rosenior's system could allow Barco to settle quickly and make an immediate impact.
