Charlton sign ex-Norwich winger Hernandez
"I'm really happy to be here. I've known the coach [Nathan Jones] for a long time and I've played against his teams."
"He's a very good coach who knows what he wants from his players. As soon as I had a conversation with Nathan, I knew straight away that it was something I wanted to be a part of."
Onel Hernandez, 32, has signed a short-term contract with Charlton Athletic after being released following seven years at Norwich City. He scored 15 goals in 210 appearances for Norwich and contributed to two Championship title-winning campaigns. Charlton sit seventh in the table and are unbeaten in their last three matches. Hernandez cited familiarity with coach Nathan Jones and a clear coaching vision as reasons for joining. Hernandez previously played in Germany for Arminia Bielefeld, Werder Bremen, Wolfsburg and Eintracht Braunschweig before moving to Norwich in 2018. He had loan spells at Middlesbrough and Birmingham and has four goals in 14 appearances for Cuba.
