""We're delighted to add Conor," manager Nathan Jones told the club website., external "He is a player of immense experience and someone who has played at the highest level and played for his country. "His leadership and his qualities are something we feel we needed at this time. At this point, we really felt we could utilise his leadership going into the last 18 games.""
"Born in St Helens, Coady came through the youth ranks at Liverpool and had spells at Sheffield United and Huddersfield before joining Wolves in 2015. At Molineux, Coady made 317 appearances during seven seasons - becoming the club captain under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo in a side which won the Championship title in 2018 and went on to qualify for the 2019-20 Europa League as Wolves reached the quarter-finals."
Conor Coady has joined Charlton Athletic on loan from Wrexham until the end of the season. The 32-year-old moved to Wrexham in the summer from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee but has not been a regular, not starting a league match since a 3-1 defeat by Queens Park Rangers on 13 September. Coady is seen as a good fit for Nathan Jones's preferred three-central-defender formation and was signed for his experience and leadership ahead of the final 18 games. Coady made ten England appearances between 2020 and 2022, scoring against Wales. He came through Liverpool's youth system, made 317 appearances for Wolves—captaining the side to the 2018 Championship title—and later had spells at Everton and Leicester. Charlton have lost four of their past seven league matches.
