Celtic to appeal against Trusty red card
"I've seen it back and I have to say I don't see it,"
"Maybe I've been out of the game too long or have misread the rules. But, first of all, the ball that's played is going away from goal and we have a man round on the cover."
"It is not a red card. It is gone now, but it played a massive part."
"We can confirm that Celtic Football Club will be submitting an appeal to the SFA in relation to the red card imposed on Auston Trusty, following the intervention of VAR during Sunday's match at Tynecastle."
Auston Trusty brought down Hearts striker Pierre Landry Kabore while Celtic led 2-1 at Tynecastle and was initially shown a yellow card. VAR advised an on-field review and referee Steven McLean upgraded the booking to a red for denying a goal-scoring opportunity. Hearts equalised through Claudio Braga to earn a 2-2 draw, maintaining a six-point lead over the defending champions. Interim Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said he did not believe the challenge merited a dismissal, noting the ball was going away from goal and a teammate provided cover. Celtic confirmed it will submit an appeal to the SFA regarding the red card.
