Casemiro aiming to lead by example after regaining Brazil captaincy - Soccer News
"I am one of those players who thinks that there are several leaders, several ways of leading. Each one leads in their own way,"
"I would like to give more examples of how to do things - how to arrive, how to be, where to be, how to work."
"CONVOCADOS! O mister Carlo Ancelotti divulgou a lista dos jogadores convocados para os amistosos contra Coreia do Sul e Japão nos dias 10 e 14 de outubro. ISSO É BRASIL! pic.twitter.com/AgoZ2CZW7E - brasil (@CBF_Futebol) October 1, 2025"
Casemiro has taken on a leadership role with Brazil under coach Carlo Ancelotti and will captain the national side for the 17th time in Friday's friendly. Brazil will play South Korea in Seoul and then Japan four days later as part of World Cup preparations. Casemiro was called up after Ancelotti replaced Dorival Junior and is the oldest player in the squad. Casemiro and Ancelotti have a long relationship and 75 appearances together at Real Madrid, which helped establish trust. With Alisson Becker and Marquinhos injured, Casemiro inherits the armband after last captaining Brazil in October 2023. Casemiro moved to Manchester United in August 2022 and has started the 2025–26 season strongly, ranking among United's top passers with 175 completed passes so far in the Premier League.
