Cas rejects Club Leon appeal over Club World Cup ban
Briefly

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld FIFA's decision to exclude Club Leon from the Club World Cup due to non-compliance with ownership regulations associated with multi-club ownership by Grupo Pachuca. Both Club Leon and Pachuca appealed to CAS, claiming compliance with the eligibility requirements, but CAS found that Club Leon's trust did not meet necessary criteria. Consequently, Pachuca remains eligible for the tournament, while Club Leon will not participate. CAS also rejected a separate appeal by Costa Rican club LDA regarding tournament qualifications.
"The panel examined the evidence, including the Club Leon trust set up by the owners of the club, and concluded that this trust was insufficient to comply with the regulations."
"Consequently, Club Leon remains excluded from the competition and Pachuca remains qualified."
