"deemed to fall far short of the objectives set for the national team"
"This poor performance has caused deep disappointment among supporters, stakeholders in national football, and governing bodies,"
"[He] has not been dismissed, and no decision has been taken in that regard,"
Burkina Faso sacked coach Brama Traore and his coaching staff after the Stallions exited in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The federation said results were deemed to fall far short of the objectives set for the national team. Burkina Faso had targeted a semi-final place but lost 3-0 to defending champions Ivory Coast in the first knockout round. Traore, 63, was appointed in March 2024, replacing Hubert Velud. In Mali, 10 of 19 Femafoot executive committee members resigned, creating a leadership crisis, while officials deny that coach Tom Saintfiet has been dismissed.
