Pat Cummins is unlikely to be ready for the first Test in Perth on 21 November because of a lower-back stress issue. Carse said Stokes and Wood look nearly 100% fit and will be raring to go. Carse toured Australia with the Lions in 2019/20 and believes conditions will suit him, noting his prior success with the Kookaburra ball.
