Breaking: Germany will host the Women's EUROs in 2029
"Germany will be hosting the next women's European Championship. The decision was made official on Wednesday evening. Germany were up against two other bids from Denmark/Sweden and Poland. Italy and Portugal were also initially in the running, but both withdrew in August and November, respectively. Germany hosted the EUROs on two previous occasions, in 1989 and 2001. They won the tournament on both occasions. They also hosted the men's tournament in 1988 and 2024."
"The eight host cities were confirmed by the DFB last June. Munich, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig, and Wolfsburg were chosen. Notable cities that were excluded are Berlin, Stuttgart, and Hamburg, among others. Germany reached the semifinals of the last EUROs in Switzerland after a very memorable win against France, in which they were down a player for around 110 minutes but eventually triumphed on penalties. In the following tournament, the DFB Frauen will be looking to win their first championship since 2013."
