Borussia Dortmund sign Chukwuemeka from Chelsea
Briefly

Carney Chukwuemeka, 21, has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund after spending the second half of last season on loan at the German club. The fee for the attacking midfielder could rise to about 24m; he made 32 appearances for Chelsea following a 20m transfer from Aston Villa in 2022. Blues defender Aaron Anselmino has agreed a season-long loan to Dortmund and has traveled to Germany to finalise the move. Chelsea's player sales this summer have exceeded 270m, nearly offsetting 277m spent on arrivals. Uefa has required Chelsea to record a positive transfer balance to register new signings after a 26.7m fine and a squad cost ratio above 80%. Several players have been linked with exits, while potential incoming targets include Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons.
