Borussia Dortmund defeated Mainz 05 4-0 at Signal Iduna Park to move to within three points of Bayern Munich. Serhou Guirassy scored twice and Maximilian Beier added a close-range header, all assisted by Julian Ryerson before half-time. Ryerson's whipped free-kick produced the opening goal and he delivered a looping cross for Beier's header. Guirassy converted another Ryerson corner shortly before the break. Mainz had an offside-disallowed finish and missed a big chance through Silas Mvumpa. Dortmund sealed the win when Dominik Kohr turned a Ryerson corner into his own net late on. Ryerson created four chances and registered three first-half assists.
