"Desperate to widen their buffer over the drop zone late on Wednesday night, Santos will travel to an already-relegated Juventude. Starting with the hosts, while Juventude might have eventually clung to their Serie A status last season, the Verdao have endured a public nightmare this time around. Last seen suffering major heartbreak at the Alfredo Jaconi as they had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Bahia, that result was enough to officially confirm their relegation."
"Already planning for life back in Brazil's second-tier, Thiago Carpini's men have also continued to show some real defensive struggles. Despite landing a much-welcomed 3-1 victory away at Vasco on November 8th, Juventude have registered just a pair of clean sheets from any of their previous 11 consecutive Serie A appearances - a run that stems all the way back to the start of October."
Santos will travel to already-relegated Juventude as they try to widen their buffer over the drop zone. Juventude suffered a 1-1 draw at home to Bahia that confirmed their relegation and have shown persistent defensive struggles, recording just two clean sheets in their previous 11 Serie A matches and only one home clean sheet since August 20th. Juventude's last seven outings have all finished with over 1.5 goals. Santos signed off November with a 3-0 win over Sport Recife, have edged out of the relegation zone on goal difference, and remain unbeaten in their last four Serie A games.
