Beating Tottenham can be a turning point' for Arsenal, says proud Arteta
"You watch it back and you cannot understand how they drew that game. You feel angry, upset, ashamed. We are all different nationalities, different people, but it's been a joy to see how we came together and asked: How will we use it to be a turning point and make ourselves better?' It's much bigger than a job it's our passion, our purpose. It's very painful but it can be very rewarding."
"He was upset even with me because I did not play him from the beginning [at Wolves]. Tottenham's new manager, Igor Tudor, was unflinching about the scale of the challenge facing him. I'm very sad, he said, but in one way it's good to understand where we are, to have a game to show you reality, so each of us understand."
Mikel Arteta said he could not be prouder or happier after Arsenal restored a five-point Premier League lead with a 4-1 win over Tottenham that he suggested could be a turning point. The victory followed a disappointing 2-0 lead squandered at Wolves that left City able to clinch the title if they win all remaining 11 games. Arteta praised the squad's response, unity and passion, and highlighted Eberechi Eze's two goals after his derby hat-trick. Tottenham manager Igor Tudor called the result a reality check and urged habit changes and hard work.
