"With Hiroki [Itō] and Phonzy [Davies] back, we have a lot of full-backs with very high quality. So things could be difficult for one or another. And then it would probably make sense to think about a change,"
"It's still January 6th, there's still time before the end of the transfer window."
Bayern Munich has strong full-back depth following the returns of Hiroki Itō and Alphonso Davies, placing Sacha Boey's squad status at risk. Boey, 25, received opportunities earlier this season when defensive injuries affected the team. He, Konrad Laimer, and Josip Stanišić occasionally filled left-back roles while Itō and Davies were absent. Boey's playing time largely evaporated by the winter break, with conduct reportedly contributing. Davies is nearing full match fitness and Itō impressed in a friendly. The current depth makes Boey the odd man out, prompting Bayern to consider a January transfer.
