Bayern Munich's Christoph Freund hopeful as deadline nears
Briefly

Christoph Freund expressed optimism that moves could be made before the transfer window closes, confirming talks are ongoing but no announcements have been made. Freund and Max Eberl have been tasked with pursuing only loaned players, which creates a difficult search constraint. Bayern Munich will travel to face former striker and academy product Sandro Wagner, who now manages FC Augsburg after a strong win over SC Freiburg. The upcoming match represents a major test for Die Fuggerstädter. The preview highlights what to watch with Augsburg, Wagner's challenges, Bayern's injury situation, a potential starting XI, and a prediction.
Christoph Freund did not tip his hand on what might happen between now and the end of the transfer window, but it seems like Freund thinks some moves will get made. "I'm generally a positive person. Hopefully something will happen. I'm not ruling out anything. There are talks taking place, but there's nothing to announce yet," Freund said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich will hit the road to face off with its old striker - and academy product - Sandro Wagner. Wagner is now the coach at FC Augsburg and got his team off to a good start in the Bundesliga with a big win over SC Freiburg. Now, though, the stakes are higher as Bayern Munich will roll into town for what should be a major test for Die Fuggerstädter.
