Bayern Munich passed on two Jamal Musiala replacement options this summer
"After Jamal Musiala's injury, Jorge Mendes' agency, Gestifute, offered Marco Asensio and Fabio Vieira to Bayern. The club held discussions and were more interested in Asensio due to his experience and proven ability at the highest level. But in the end, Bayern decided against the move as Asensio's salary was deemed too high. Talks with Vieira never materialized either. The latter is set to make his HSV debut against Bayern on Saturday [@BILD]"
"Vieira did end up making his debut in Hamburg's blowout 5-0 defeat to Bayern. Not the easiest of circumstances but it was never going to be smooth sailing for the just-promoted Bundesliga club. Asensio, meanwhile, ended up at Fenerbahçe, where he will face off against Bayern alum Leroy Sané, now at Galatasaray. It looks like the right move for all parties. Vieira is a technical midfielder who would struggle for minutes at Bayern but has a chance to be central at HSV."
Bayern Munich explored transfer options after Jamal Musiala's Club World Cup injury left him sidelined long-term. Jorge Mendes' agency Gestifute offered Marco Asensio and Fabio Vieira to Bayern. Bayern showed greater interest in Asensio for his experience and top-level ability but ruled him out because his salary was too high. Negotiations over Fabio Vieira did not progress, and Vieira joined Hamburg where he debuted in a 5-0 defeat to Bayern. Asensio moved to Fenerbahçe and will face Leroy Sané at Galatasaray. Vieira offers regular playing time at HSV while Asensio would have required financial justification. Enzo Millot remained an alternative option.
