"On deadline day of the summer transfer window, a deal had been agreed upon between Liverpool and Crystal Palace to send center back Marc Guéhi to Merseyside, but Palace manager Oliver Glasner played a pivotal role in getting the deal to collapse in the eleventh hour. The former Bundesliga manager threatened to walk if the club followed through with the sale of the England international"
"Per information from The Mirror's John Cross (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich have now entered the race to try to sign Guéhi this summer as a free agent and are one of several European clubs interested in trying to do so. In theory, Liverpool could go back in for him in the January transfer window, but they would have to pay a fee not long before he would be able to leave the club as a free agent"
A deadline-day agreement to send center back Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace to Liverpool collapsed when Palace manager Oliver Glasner threatened to resign if the sale proceeded. Palace had already lost Eberechi Eze to Arsenal after winning the FA Cup and dropping into the Conference League. Guéhi remained professional during prolonged negotiations but became frustrated at missing his preferred move and will stay at Palace until at least January, with his contract running through next summer. Bayern Munich and other European clubs are now interested in Guéhi as a potential free agent, and talks or pre-contracts can begin from January 1.
