"With the January window now closed, those at Anfield have seemingly set their sights on a far more ambitious option than Geertruida. According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are now plotting a move to sign Jules Kounde from Barcelona, who would sell their defender at a hefty €80m (£70m). It would be quite the move and Kounde's clear quality means that Liverpool aren't the only side interested. Joining them, Manchester United, Chelsea and most of all Bayern Munich have also set their sights on signing the talented Frenchman in the summer."
"This does not feel like a move Bayern Munich would make - the cost along is cause for caution. It is also a question of whether or not it would fiscally responsible to pay the salary cost that it would take to get Koundé, for him to play right-back - a position where Bayern Munich might be looking to pay someone less than the total package of € 19,550,000 he currently makes."
Jules Koundé is 27 years old and can play as a right-back or centre-back. Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are among clubs interested in signing him for the summer. Barcelona would sell Koundé for around €80m (£70m), his contract runs through 2030, and his deal includes a €1,000,000,000 release clause. Koundé's current total package is approximately €19,550,000. Bayern Munich would face significant transfer and salary costs to acquire him and may be reluctant to pay that sum for a right-back. Bayern are not close to signing Nimfasha Berchimas.
