Bayern Munich agreed terms for a loan of Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson that included a world-record £13 million loan fee and a £56.2m option to buy. Chelsea cancelled the transfer after Liam Delap suffered an injury and ordered Jackson to return to London, preventing the signing of a contract. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl said the club could not intervene and that Jackson, who was in Munich, would be sent back. Jackson reportedly reacted angrily and his agent suggested staying in Munich to force the move. Bayern said they have 48 hours to seek a solution.
'It was relatively close before the game,' Eberl said per BILD. 'Chelsea informed us that they would like the player back after we reached an agreement yesterday and were allowed to undergo the medical. The situation now is that the boy is here in Munich, but we are sending him back.'
'First of all, I'm not in a position to act. We acted, we would have liked to act, we would have liked to have done the examination and signed the contract. That's not possible now, and we'll tell the player and his agent that they have to go back because Chelsea... We simply don't have a signed contract. We have 48 hours left. This isn't a situation we could really plan for, but we'll try to find a solution there as well.'
