Bayern 2-1 Dortmund (Oct 18, 2025) Game Analysis - ESPN
"Harry Kane scored his 12th goal in seven Bundesliga games as Bayern Munich withstood a late scare to beat rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the Allianz Arena. Kane headed home from a Joshua Kimmich corner after 22 minutes to give his side the lead and Michael Olise grabbed the second from close range before Julian Brandt's late strike caused home nerves to jangle."
"Bayern always looked likely to stretch their 100% start to the new campaign but despite looking utterly dominant in the first period they had only Kane's strike to show for their efforts. Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel produced good saves to deny Olise and Luis Díaz in the early stages, before Kane struck by out-jumping the visiting defence to give his side the lead."
Kane headed home from a Joshua Kimmich corner after 22 minutes to put Bayern ahead. Bayern dominated the first half but had only Kane's goal to show despite early chances and Gregor Kobel saves denying Olise and Luis Díaz. Olise later clipped the post with a shot after a neat one-two with Aleksandar Pavlovic. Dortmund grew stronger after half-time and had several chances, including a missed header by Felix Nmecha and Serhou Guirassy sending a chance over. Jobe Bellingham's introduction in the 73rd minute preceded Olise bundling home a second after Bellingham stumbled, and Julian Brandt pulled a late goal back in the 84th minute.
