Dro Fernandez, an 18-year-old midfielder who joined La Masia in 2022, has completed a move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain on a contract through 2030. PSG reportedly paid €8.2m, above his €6m release clause, in a deal said to preserve relations between the clubs. Fernandez made five senior appearances for Barcelona, including a Champions League appearance. Joan Laporta described the circumstances as unpleasant and expressed surprise that the player’s representative did not follow through on an agreed solution upon turning 18. PSG framed the signing as aligned with a youth-focused sporting strategy.
