Atletico Madrid has completed the signing of Johnny Cardoso, a United States international, from Real Betis for €30million. Cardoso, who joined Betis in January 2024, had previously spent five years with Brazilian side Internacional. He made 28 LaLiga appearances for Betis last season. A first-refusal option on Cardoso held by Tottenham expired on June 10. Cardoso, who has 22 caps for the USA, signed a five-year contract with Atletico. He is the fifth signing of the transfer market for Atletico Madrid this season.
